A silent problem when people grow old is the risk of falling and injuring themselves, when a person is of a certain age the risk of osteoporotic fracture and manly other injuries become a lot higher. However is there a way that we can try and prevent this? The answer is yes there is. EXERCISE is once again the key and studies have shown the exercise reduces the rate of falls by 23% which is hugely significant. The types of exercises that should be used are functional and some resistance based movement along with balance exercises and these have been shown to work well.
