Can protein enhance recovery in team sports?
Protein shakes and recovery shakes are a huge multi billion pound industry but does it actually help our sporting performance and increase recovery time? As a nation we are very health and fitness driven and spend a whopping 65k on average on gym membership, supplements and nutrition in our lifetime.
The research shows that there is limited data suggesting it enhances our recovery and performance in team sports. However before you go stopping everything this research was done on a small sample group, which suggests that we could do with more research on the topic.
